World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd to benefit from their unique stats (like an ideally made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats, such as the chance to crit, attack damage as well as PvE and damage to PvP. They also have an unchanging bonus that increases their damage per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a group. This bonus can sometimes be greater than the damage that an upgrade can do on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires more Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also change the stats of their base. This is usually a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. Upgrades can render items impossible to use, unless you are extremely lucky.
The ability to upgrade armor items to improve their performance. This can increase the defense base of a chest or helm while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it may reduce its value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will gain upon upgrading in addition to their respective values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the item menu with the arrows that are circling. This will reroll an item and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.
Armor
Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character is, the more value you get from every point of health you possess, so it's important to improve your armor as much as possible.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them each of which requires you to complete a special side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and mastered the corresponding fountain you'll be able to contact any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each will vary. You'll need anywhere between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to stay ahead in frigid environments with a large number of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with friends.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use to fight the final boss as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
You can also unlock some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have a few upgrades to the helmets and chest armor to allow you to escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, provide the player with a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. In addition, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table or the Alchemist's chest. However, the cost of upgrading is dependent on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that allows you to select the potion you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they'll provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
When a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade in the event that you make use of it again or break the bottle in which it is stored. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions, for example, now have a duration 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds displayed on the item hover display. The table of potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be used in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the potion and replenishes the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions, which are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to extend their effect. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It may be a reference to an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but isn't particularly significant such as a tiny thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is a way to show affection or friendship between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be traded at will without losing stats.
Cases gg can be found at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens or fragments of trinkets that are rare.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to purchasing a new trinket. It can be done by the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same base level as the previous trinket however, it will also come with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded when they are no longer needed, allowing a player to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries and then other pieces of gear that they will not be replacing in the near future (for example an earring or cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when choosing which items to upgrade. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl after they're no longer needed, and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. Re-upgrading will destroy the trinket unless it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
